About us
Alice & Bob is a quantum computing company based in Paris and Boston whose goal is to create the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer. Founded in 2020, Alice & Bob has raised €180 million in funding and employs more than 250 people.
Advised by Nobel Prize winning researchers, Alice & Bob specializes in cat qubits, a technology developed by the company’s founders. Demonstrating the power of its cat architecture, Alice & Bob recently showed that it could reduce the hardware requirements for building a useful large-scale quantum computer up to 200 times compared with competing approaches.

Dr. Théau Peronnin
CEO and co-founder, Alice & Bob
Théau Peronnin is a physicist by training and vocation. He earned his master’s degree from the École Polytechnique in Paris and his PhD in quantum physics from the ENS Lyon. In 2020, his long-time work alongside Raphaël Lescanne on bit-flip-protected qubit design was published by Nature Physics. Soon thereafter, building on this work, they founded Alice & Bob.

Dr. Raphaël Lescanne
CTO and Co‑founder, Alice & Bob
Raphaël Lescanne is the CTO and co-founder of Alice & Bob. With a background in physics, he graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure – PSL, with a Master’s degree in quantum physics and obtained a PhD in experimental quantum error correction. His research on bit-flip-protected qubit design, conducted during his PhD, was published in Nature Physics in 2020, paving the way for the creation of Alice & Bob. As CTO, he leads the company’s scientific and technical roadmap toward building a universal, fault‑tolerant quantum computer that dramatically reduces the number of qubits required for useful applications.

Chloe Poisbeau
COO, Alice & Bob
Chloé Poisbeau is the Chief Operating Officer of Alice & Bob. She is a graduate engineer from Arts et Métiers and holds a Master’s degree in International Business from ESSEC. She previously co-founded a startup before joining an incubator, where she spent four years supporting deep-tech companies.Today, she leads strategy, operations, and fundraising at Alice & Bob, playing a key role in the company’s growth. -
Elie Girard
Executive Chairman, Alice & Bob
Elie Girard is the Executive Chairman of Alice & Bob. He brings over two decades of experience in strategy and large‑scale transformation, having previously served as CEO & Director of Atos and as Senior Executive Vice President at Orange. A graduate of École Centrale Paris and Harvard University, where he earned master’s degrees in engineering and in economics and statistics, Elie guides Alice & Bob’s scale‑up, industrial partnerships, and go‑to‑market strategy as the company advances its cat‑qubit technology toward practical, universal quantum computing.
